Lagwagon announce South American tour with Mute, Belvedere and Adrenalized

Santa Barbara skate punk veterans Lagwagonwill embark on the “We Are One” tour with Mute, Belvedere and Adrenalized, which will take place in February and March of next year in South America. Lagwagon frontman Joey Cape on the tour:

“Very excited that Lagwagon is coming back to South America in late February, early March. We’ll be touring with the bands Belvedere and Mute. We’re coming to Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil and for the first time, Columbia. Come hang out with us!”

The dates and locations are below.

Almost a year has passed since Lagwagon last released Hang, their first album in nine years, via Fat Wreck Chords. Mute have been working on a new album, album, which will be their first since 2011′s ThunderblastBelvedere have been working on new material as well, and Adrenalized released their latest album Docet Umbra a month ago.

Motörhead: Bad Magic review – indecently thrilling and vital

Easy as it is to smirk at Lemmy’s decision to swap bourbon for vodka (with extra ice) in response to his recent health woes, anything that keeps the old reprobate on the road and raging imperiously should be welcomed. His band’s 22nd studio album, Bad Magic, sustains and emboldens the run of tremendous form that began as far back as 2004’s Inferno. Sounding more like a turbocharged punk band than at any time since their early 80s heyday, Lemmy (who turns 70 on Christmas Eve) and his gnarly comrades tear into short, sharp bursts of incendiary rock’n’roll like Victory Or Die, Electricity and Tell Me Who to Kill with the venomous abandon of delinquent teenagers. For most of its duration, Bad Magic is indecently thrilling and imbued with a sense of vitality and danger that most bands of this – or, indeed, any – vintage can only dream about. Even a thunderous closing cover of the Stones’ Sympathy for the Devil hits the mark, Lemmy delivering Jagger’s ageless lyrics with a mixture of scowling conviction and mischievous twinkle.

Great Job, Internet!: Miley Cyrus, Laura Jane Grace, and Joan Jett take on the Replacements

As part of Miley Cyrus’ Backyard Sessions video series on Facebook, and as a way to launch her new charitable foundation Happy Hippie, the pop star has teamed up with Against Me! Singer Laura Jane Grace and Joan Jett, one of the newest inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, for a live cover of the Replacements’ Let it Be classic “Androgynous.”

The new video appears to be the first in run of artist cover collaborations to help get the word out about The Happy Hippie Foundation, which Cyrus set up in order to create an online digital support space for LGBT youth and their families while also fighting back against homelessness.
